Nikon 400mm f2.8
This image of Tony Hewitt (I have permission to post this!!) was shot with the Nikon 400mm f2.8 with a 2x converter attached, now if you do the maths…….yes, that’s 800mm!!!!!
Now the old converters I will admit were shit, but when I saw the image quality out of this one, I got a little excited. No need for the 600 anymore, whack a 2x on this, and when you want a fast 400mm, take it off, simple, versatile and very handy!!!! You be the judge!!!

You might be fumbling around like a virgin on a first date, but I’m sure you’d get the hang of it pretty quick!!!

600with a 1.4 effectively only gives you an extra 40 mm in focal length. I like the idea of having an f2.8 lens when you need it!!
