Travelling South

Hope this post finds you all well after a big xmas break, and looking forward to the New Year.

We’ve just arrived in Esperance after spending a couple nights in Albany (David, will be back in Albany after the weekend so will give you a call), an interesting second night that is, with the wind coming in at 2.30 in the morning and threatening the tear apart our Taj Mahal, (Tarp and Swag),so there we were, packing up the camp at half 2 in the morning  expecting a massive downpour, so we slept in the car, only to find in the morning that it didn’t rain a drop!! Was funny watching most in the camping area of the park running around like mad chooks packing up tarps and tents, including ourselves!!

So the light hasn’t been the best, or the conditions, but it has been good getting around and checking out the surrounds.

The  photos in this post are just that, photos, just needed to post something I guess, and these were processed from Jpegs on an uncalibrated lappy!!

This one is from the “Tree In A Rock” in the Porongurups. It amazes me how people like to leave their mark for all to see. I can’t understand it, why do it? Why? It’s like the clowns in society who have no respect for others, hell they don’t even respect themselves. It annoys me how these idiots leave rubbish everywhere, like to scribe their name on things, just generally disrespecting  everything, as if it’s their right to do as they please. And to this person with the initials JRE, you got my attention, and I think you’re a dickhead!!

These next two are just some macros from around the “Happy Days” caravan park just to the north of Albany. Shot with the D3 and the Nikon 105mm Macro f2.8 VR.

This last one was taken down at Pink Lake in Esperance. The wind was howling, and I had the new 70-200 VRII out for a run…..I found this interesting little scene, now I’m not sure if this seed head was stuck or was just giving this plant a big hug……either way it was a good way to show off the sharpness of this new lens!!

I hope you all have a wonderful and safe new year, and hope we can all showcase some awesome photos here in 2010, I’m sure we all will!!
