Forest Rally Moto

I was lucky enough to head along to the Forest Rally in Nannup last weekend. The Forest Rally is round 2 of the Australian Rally Championship (ARC). I was pretty keen to watch, especially for the fact that there were motorbikes in the event, for the first time. Although there were only 13 entrants in the moto devision, the boys really pushed hard and put on a show for the spectators. In doing this, they have gained a lot of respect, especially the fact they reached speeds up to 170kmh, without a roll cage for protection!!

Western Australian Sean Williamson won outright, followed by Michael Heuchen from NSW. Andrew Coaker, also from NSW came 3rd. Heath Young was the first quad in, and finished fourth outright.

The event was held over 2 days in and around Nannup. The moto devision only competed in the forest stages, where as the cars featured in the special stages in Busselton on Friday and Saturday night.

The images are a handful that I got over the weekend. I’ll also have some from the cars to post as well.

All shot with the D3, with either the 70-200 or 200-400 lenses.

Weat Aussie Sean Williamson rode a brand new Yamaha WR 450 to victory.

Team Husaberg rounded out the podium with 2nd and 3rd outright positions.
