Oz Safari Prologue

Today saw the long drive out to Southern Cross for the prologue. For those of you who aren’t familiar with this, the prologue is where the riders are seeded after riding a short leg.

As I write this I’m unsure of full placings, but Todd Smith overhauled brother Jacob and leads with the quickest time.

Everyone got through the prologue without too many dramas, although the conditions are definitely going to be dusty with the lack of rain this winter.

Until tomorrow night, here’s some images.

Last years winner, Jacob Smith

07-08 champ and 3rd last year, Ben Grabham.

After a spectacular crash ended last years safari, A.J. Roberts is back with some unfinished business.

Last years 4th place and popular rider, Ivan Erceg.

Southern Cross legend Warren Strange is definitely a dark horse this week.

Brazil champion Ze’ Helio was a bit off the pace but will improve as the week goes on.

  1. Awesome shots mate. Have yourself a blast champ. I am happily having a break this year, while the Safari is simply epic, I chose to spend precious time at home this year. Say G’day to Mike from me.

    • Cheers Graham. I have been looking for the shorty, and you’ve answered why you’re not here.
Should be an awesome week, as you know. I’ll try and update and upload some photos every night.

  2. Hey there Jamie, i’m watching your updates with great interest – wishing i was there. Your shots are fantastic. Give Burf a pat on the back mate and push him along so he can achieve his top 20 goal – in his 4th attempt. Have a great week buddy – go for the money shot.

    • Hey Ray, Cheers for dropping by. There has already ben some interesting things happen on the first day, but I will elaborate on them later. I’ll have to drop in and say hi to Burf.

  3. Not sure you stuck the fence post, tree stump or what ever it is in the pics on purpose but it works well in the second shot I reckon Jamie.
Looking forward to your updates as well.
