The Last Stand

Have driven past this scene a number of times in the past few months, just around the corner from a mates farm. From the right angle you get this, a simple image, no trees, no fence posts, no cows, just some foreground, the sky and all that remains of an old farmhouse. Wasn’t sure how to process this, so just went with nice, clean and simple. Shot from the side of the road as I don’t know the farmer who owns the property, but I will find out, as a nice wide shot close in would look pretty cool.

You can only imagine what might have been of this old farmhouse. The stories, the hardships, the depression years. One thing is certain, no amount of fire will ever destroy this, and it has been burnt twice in the last 10 years.

  1. Nice Jamie, I am a sucker for old chimneys! What would look great here is a bride with a big flowing dress near it.

    Cheers mate

  2. ah, so hard to find a chimney that has no powerlines, tree or objects near by. great find
